Most of the Costco's around the US do have GAS.
However I seem to live in an area where they are lacking.
NYC and Long Island one in Westchester that I know don't have gas. It drives me crazy (no pun).
It is so true most of you around the other parts of the US take it for granted you go to Costco, and you can get your tank filled up. Love it in NJ where they have to pump it for you. Yes its the law in NJ. I dunno why.
So none of the locations in the 5 boroughs have gas except in Staten Island.
LIC, Rego Park, Brooklyn, Harlem no gas. Westbury LI. No Gas, Melville No Gas.
Just outside of Queens on the south shore Nassau County in the 5 towns area in Lawrence Costco No Gas. When mom lived in Valley Stream Costco sent out letters encouraging the local residents to support their effort to get a gas station in Lawrence. That was 5 years ago. Did they ever get the approval to build out the Costco Gas? Guess what. NO!
I think there is one or two location on LI where they have gas. In Port Chester (Westchester) they have this 2 level dealio Costco where you can ride up with your cart on an escalator type ramp. But no Gas Station.
New Rochelle in Westchester has gas. But the lines are like 1973 oil embargo days half a mile long around the block.
(Psst none of NY Costcos can sell that Kirkland moonshine either)

We have 3 Costcos in North San Diego County, in a 5 mile radius, all with gas stations. (And liquor, beer and wine.)

Yup. That is the same Costco station where we buy gas every fill. Less than 3 miles from where we live. I have found their regular to run anywhere from $0.05 to $0.20 cheaper at any given time. When all the other stations jack up their prices, Costco usually keeps the same price through the end of the day and even sometimes the next. That is the only time I see big lines at the pumps. The last time it went up, Costco was almost $0.50 cheaper than the Speedway on the other side of the intersection.

Ours has gas- about 2-3 cents lower than anywhere else in town, but we beat them with Kroger gas credits (usually 30-40 cents/gal) on grocery purchases. Still can't beat those $5 rotisserie chickens or a dog & soda for a buck 50

The lack of Costco gas stations is likely due to local politics, or there isn't room to build a station. In NYC, real estate costs probably make it impossible to have a gas station (the two-story Costco buildings are built in areas where reasonable real estate prices or general available space is just too hard to find.) Costco tries to provide gas as part of their business model, since they give 4% back on gas purchases on their branded Citi Visa card (although you can get that back on gas bought anywhere.) The more you spend at their warehouses, the better everybody does, including members. So providing gas is a solid part of what Costco tries to do.
Kroger et al. can't be beat for their gas credits, if you can use them. But otherwise, Costco is usually the cheapest gas around.

If you go to Tanger Outlet in Riverhead, the Costco near there DOES have gas!
(BJ's off Rt 110 has gas - think that's Farmingdale)

The one went to in San Ramon, CA, when we lived there, did not have gas. The one we go to now in Albuquerque, NM does.

No. The five nearest ones to us do not. The closest one to us that does is about a 40-mile/65-km drive from where we are.

My regional Costco has a gas station, but I haven't gassed up there in at least two years.....always a lineup when I drive to the store.

We used to have big backups at our Costco gas station at peak times and being able to fill up with their extra long hoses which reached to whatever side the gas tank was on was a big help.
Recently, our local Costco expanded the gas station by adding 3 more banks of pumps! Hardly ever a wait even at busy times, but I've found that filling up enroute to work before 8 is an ideal time for a fill up with my pick of pumps!

We just got back from Maui a few days ago, and Costco gas is .80 cheaper at Costco than most of the gas stations on the island. That is why the wait is sometimes 10 minutes. Totally worth waiting ten minutes.

A couple years ago we were in Madison WI, and the Costco there had gas at the same price as other local stations. They said there was some kind of 'agreement' that warehouse stores were subject to 'area pricing' or some such. It struck me as price fixing, but at least I didn't need to shop for the lowest gas price. Every station was the same. Dumb law.

We just spend most of a week in Reno. The Costco Gas was $1.20 to .60 per gallon cheaper than the other stations. In Salem the Costco Has is .30 to .60 per gallon cheaper than the other Gas stations just 3 blocks away. Costco Gas is also highly rated.

I know of one on Long island, way out in Riverhead. I'm from the Hamptons, born and raised in Westhampton Beach and still have family out there so we're usually out there once a week and we always swing by Costco for gas. I wish it were closer as it would save us probably $40-$50 a month in gas.
Speaking of Costco and Autos, any one who is looking for a car needs to consider Costco if at all possible. Not only do they give you a great price on the car, after the fact you get 15% discount on service and accessories which allows us to use the more thorough dealer service and have price be competitive with or better than local service center pricing. We need the 30k service on our Honda CRV and pricing it out it was $439 ($373 with discount) from Honda and $375 from local service centers who I don't particularly have any faith in from past history.
You just can't beat Costco at much.

An excellent deal, but unfortunately, not universally available. Our Costco beats the competition by 2-3 cents a gallon. Combine that with about a dime by using the Costco Visa (4% discount) for under 15 cents a gallon discount. So if I fill my 20 gallon tank, say 15 or so at a purchase, it saves about $2 on the tank that I have to drive across town and que up in a line for. If I fill at the neighborhood Kroger (3 cents off & use the Costco Visa) even if I don't use the Kroger grocery 1% discount, it amounts to the same price as Costco.
I've been reading in this thread about places where there is $.30-$.60 below prevailing area price, I'm envious. At that kind of rate, less than 10 fill-ups a year covers the Costco membership! What a deal!

On live on Long Island too and wish Costco had more gas options. Since we have membership in Sams, Costco & BJ's we sometimes to to Sam's in Medford. They are normally less than Costco.

Nope. Our local Costco in Monterey (actually Sand City CA) doesn't have gasoline. Other area Costco's (Santa Cruz, Gilroy) do have gas, though.

NJ raised their state tax on gasoline in the last month ... still among the LOWEST overall price for gas.
As for the mandatory attendant required gas attendants ... really a nice option during icy weather, snow blizzards, monsoon rain storms, and the "I am to lazy to pump my own gas & then smell like a garage monkey for the rest of the day" feeling.

Ok, that's New Jersey. Oregon also has no self-serve gas. Any place else?

Our Costco in Cranberry, PA, has gas, but it won't let us use our credit card that gives us a 5% discount...so we go elsewhere (except when on Maui).
