Army (Ret.) 93, passed Saturday, October 29, 2022, with his wife Gail by his side. Cal- vin was born October 1, 1929, to the late Calvin J. Forehand Sr. and Mildred Brown Forehand. Calvin was the eldest of seven siblings, four preceded him in death: Arletha, Douglas, Dr.

Otis, and Alvin. He was also preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, and the mother of their six children, Leona Bryant. Calvin lived an extraordinary, unusual life, but a very successful one. He graduated from Gibbs High School Class of 1947. He was very proud to be ac- cepted to Xavier University in Louisiana.

He later re- turned to college and attended National-Louis Uni- versity in Indiana, earning a degree in Behavioral Science. He was drafted into the Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1956 and did two tours in the Ko- rean War. He joined the Army Reserves from 1956 to 1962 and re-enlisted during the Vietnam war, serving two tours in Vietnam from 1962-1970. He was very proud of being a part of the Intelligence move to Fort Huachuca, Arizona. In 1982, Calvin retired from Fort Myer, Virginia, as the ranking Sergeant Major Non-Commissioned Offi- cer for the Army, serving as advisor to the Chief of Staff.

That same year he started a security company with more than 500 employees. He had contracts in Washington D.C., Virginia, Florida, Nevada, Puerto Rico, and South Africa, a real success story. Calvin was loved. His memories will be forever cherished by his beautiful wife, Gail; his six children, Grayling (Jocelyn), Karen, Andrea (John), Adrienne, Brian (Sharon), and Calvin David (Casandra); two brothers, Ray and Vernal nine grandchil- dren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Delora; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
